Official visit to the US: Norway House
Mayor Frey
Ladies and gentlemen,
It is a great pleasure to join you here at Norway House for the opening of this seminar. My mother spoke very warmly about this complex after she attended the official opening three years ago. She described it as a home away from home – and now I understand what she meant.
Norway House has become both a gathering place for the Norwegian-American community and a soft-landing spot for Norwegian businesses entering the United States. You instantly get the feeling that the best from both our countries converges here at Norway House.
Here in Minnesota, we see how American entrepreneurship and Norwegian ideas complement each other and lead to real results every day.
This seminar focuses on health technology, defence, and advanced industries — all of which are areas of great importance for our societies. One of the more concrete issues we face is how to deliver health care in challenging environments. These are issues where cooperation does not simply make a difference; it is a prerequisite for success.
For generations, the United States and Norway have stood side by side. Building on this partnership, we can continue to develop solutions that are sustainable, innovative, and future-oriented.
I would like to thank Norway House and all its partners for making this event possible. I wish you all the best in your discussions today.
Thank you.
